8.1 Repair Manual

I was wondering who makes a repair manual for a 2001 8.1.

 

I am throwing two codes right now and need to know how to find/fix them.

I just researched the Haynes site and the '01 Silverado book excludes the 8.1L. Which book should I be looking for exactly? This would be little more cost effective for me and yet give me a general idea of what I have to do.

I have the codes. P0343 -Cam sensor A-bank 1 Circuit High Input and P1518-Intake manifold runner control (stuck open). The problem is that I do not know where these are located and what is needed to be done.

If you going to work on your own truck get the Helms manual its the best info for the job. Anything else is just a waste.

I'm in the same boat with the 343 CPS. I've changed it once. I'm still researching the issue for a solution.

 

Keep us all posted of your progress, I'll do the same.

I didn't throw a code but the cam sensor went out all of sudden...which killed the motor. It wasn't cheap either.
