Hey guys, welcome to the world of "not quite right"! I spent a year at the Kun in 2000-2001. Couldn't wait to get back and get a new truck because I sold mine before I went over there.

I went to Chinhae for a week once. We got fubar'd in Pusan and got in a barfight with a bunch of Russian sailors.

Good times, good times, good scars.

I was at Kunsan June 99 to 00. I'm sure a ton has changed since then. We had just gotten internet in the dorms. Man what a life saver that was. It would have been nice to have had this forum then. I did the Wolfpack wheels to Osan a few times.

I worked engines on the flight line with the 80th FS. What did you guys do? I was lucky enough to get to go to Singapore and Malaysia for six weeks. Man now that was an awesome TDY. Singapore ROCKS! Malaysia was ok, flying against the Migs was cool. Man those things smoke worse than the F-4. :D

Quiksilver71, did they get the new BX built yet? The Chow Hall just opened up 3 months before I left. Did you get into one of the new dorms there by the education office. They just started them back in 99 and finished up 2 of them before I left.

Black02, I was there Nov 00-01. The new dorms opened shortly after I got there and they became SNCO dorms. They were quite nice, but unfortunately I was just a TSgt then. I've heard the dorms now have DSL, that would be real sweet as the dial-up sucked. I lived on the first floor of a dorm and a friend of mine was on the forth floor right above me. We ran a Cat-6 cable from his window to mine and played a lot of Half-Life "head to head". That killed a lot of time for us!

I spent quite a few nights (and $$$) in Osan back in the '80's.

Thanks guys. No matter what the papers say, we really do love and support our troops. :happysad:

I was unfortunately in Kwang Ju AB back in 99 during the Bosnian crisis. We had to back fill for the USS Kittyhawk, because it got sent over to the Mediterranean from the Pacific theatre. We were only there for about 4 months though, so we made the best of it. Took many train rides up to Osan and had a blast there.
