need some help here...

 

i have been around enigine for a while and know the three main thing in geting more power and mpg out of vehicles. i have found a good deal of info on the induction and exhaust side of the house. does any one know if anyone makes better coil packs, piggy back system for a better spark/burn.

 

cant burn the fuel no point in putting it in there right???

What kind of vehicle do you have?

If its a 4.8 or 5.3, the coils are more than adequate enough to take care of things. Id spend the money somewhere else man!

they look like ls1/2 coil packs??. if they are i get the msd replacement for the better burn. if they are like 50,000 volt i wont mess with them. but usually stock is round 30k

The coil near plug ignitions and the platnum plugs the 8.1 engine comes

with

are as good as it can get. Don't waste any money or time on some of

these

upgrades touted in some of the magazines, also like hand held

programmers,

power towers, air intakes, they just don't do anything measurable thats

worth the cost. We have engine tested so many items for the 8.1 we have

over

356 dyno pulls on two motors testing every type of performance

enhancing

part made to date. The only things that really work are good cams, good

heads such as ours,roller rockers, our intake manifold and bigger

injectors,

good headers and neccessary reprogramming of the ECM by a Pro. The

other

kinds of so called improvers put a lot of money in some peoples pockets

and

sometimes three horsepower or so on an uncalibrated dyno and allow

them to

take out big glossy ads and articles in magazines that want you to

become a

reader and by everything advertised in there
