I have been reading on the problems with tire size and the new brakes. From what I read and concluded the 17" rim for 05 is so they clear the brake caliper but I was reading on another site were an 05 Tahoe has a 16" rim for the spare? I guess my conclusions are wrong?

Not sure why they went to the 17" rim for sure...But it can't be the calipers/drums. The pickups have 16" spares as well.
