Keyless Entry Remote Programming

Recommended Posts

Posted

I recently purchased an additional keyless entry remote for a 2002 Suburban which came with no programming instructions.

The remote has the following identifiers:

GM/LEAR 15042968

FCC ID: KOBLEAR1XT

CANADA: 3521 102 1718

Any help would be mucho appreciated!!

Have a great weekend!

It is not a good idea to show those numbers on the back of the remote, some one else can duplacate the remote programming. and have access to your truck.

try this I pulled it off anothe forum, hope it helps.

Transmitter Programming

Start with the ignition OFF, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel. Turn ignition key ON, OFF, ON, OFF. Release power unlock button on the door panel. The locks will cycle once.

Hold down the keyless entry transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for 15 seconds. The locks will again cycle once.

Repeat step #2 for each additional keyless entry transmitter.

Turn the ignition on to exit the keyless entry transmitter programming mode. Programming is now complete.

It is appreciated that you posted these instructions, but your statement about being able to duplicate the programming makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. First of all, the numbers on the back of my remote are the exact same as those posted above. Second, it would require someone to know where he lives, what his truck looks like, etc. which is impossible information to gather based on his post above. Also, if someone really wanted to get in his truck they would just break in...

The numbers on the back of these remotes are all the same (they are different for different year models). I have a 2002 silverado and my number is the same.

I guess this is different for the factory remotes, but for after market it is, the numbers on the back are a programming code for that setup. this maybe for the old stuff, and in the manual they say write these numbers down and keep in a safe place and you could call a manufacture and say you lost or broke the remote and give them the code on the back and they would send you a new one and it would work right off without any programming
