2004 Envoy XUV Nav radio problem

Hi All, What an excellent forum. I have read all the posts in the Navigation radio section but have some questions.

I have an 2004 Envoy XUV with the Bose single disc Navigation system which I have been having problems. The radio reboots to the GMC screen after pushing destination, then memory points. The dealer is going to change it under warranty of course but, since they have to remove it anyway to do some software upgrades, I would like to upgrade to the touch screen version.

Right now I have P/N 15108421. It says non lux under the p/n.

The dealer said the latest replacement for this radio is p/n 28015889. Is that a good p/n?

Is it touch screen?

I do not have Y91 on my parts sticker but would like to verify Amp p/n. Does anyone know where it is located?

Thanks ahead of time Linda, poonis et all for your excellent posts

The latest PN I've seen is: 15229287, non-lux. Ask your dealer to check this. I don't know SUV's, but if you have the full console I think the amp is under the storage box. If not, it's behind the dash. If you are going to stay with the non-lux HU the amp you have is fine. You prolly already know that.

Thanks synster. Actually , I got my GM envoy books today and found out the amp is located in the left rear close out panel....

Anyone know , Was 2003 the first year they offered the Navigation radio?
