Low Fuel warning-when does it go on??

At what fuel level does the low fuel message come on? Didn't see it mentioned in the manual.

I have an AV 2500 - 37gal tank - light went on @ 4gal give or take - a little close for my taste - made me a believer.

earliest mine ever came on i had 5 gallons left

mine came on with 4 gallons left, but now comes on with

only 2 left. way too close for my liking. it has also stuck

in the full position for at least 3 tanks. took it in to

get fixed, and the darned thing started working normal

(like it never did it) but still doesn't come on till

there's 2 gallons left.

Do you run a fuel injector or fuel system cleaner?

Different brands of gas have different detergent additives, alcohol, stabilizers, etc in them that can make the float sticky in the tank. A lot of times the cleaners (like STP) will clean the gunk off and the gas gauge will start working better.

Mine comes on w/ about 4 gallons left.  I don't like it coming on that early, too annoying.  If I'm just driving to and from work I can get by a whole week on just a gallon of gas.  That light in the message center is just too big and annoys me.  I know they are trying to make the trucks smarter, but it seems like now they are just assuming we're idiots.
