Rattle in 4 wheel drive shifter knob

Has anybody had this problem

 

At varying speed the floor shifter for 4 wheel drive is making a rattling noise.

If u grab the shifter and push to the side or put any pressure on it the whining stops. Any help would be appreciated would like to get rid of this bothersome

noise.

I have the same problem on my 2004 2500 D/A. The dealer said it was normal due to the engine/trans combo. I guess that was a like of Cr?p. I looked for a posts on this months ago and was unsuccessful.

Slide underneath the truck. Your linkage from the shifter to the Tcase is what's ratteling. I used a zip tie to put pressure on the connection. A dab of heavt grease should do it too. I was just lazy. The tie works well except shifting to low range rips it off.
