I'm thinking of That Microfiber stuff. supposed to be low maintaince, and MF lasts. plus, if I run out of towels when waxing the car, I'll just grab a cushion and go back at the car.

 

I kind of like this one, and I think I might go with the table style in the pic also(brushed stainless or nickel, my light fixtures are brushed nickel)

 

 

 

anybody know if the MF is good or has problems or whatever? I realize I'm not going to get the most "edumacated" furniture advice on this site, but hey, we're all in the same boat, right?

While I like the tables, my advice is this. If you are going to have anything metal, it will get "old" as far as styling goes. In a few years, probly before the furniture wears out, it will be out of style. Wood furniture, while far from contemporary in style, will give a timeless look that will look "in style" until the peice is worn out.

 

When we bought our house a couple years ago, every fixture, door knob, light, etc. was all this bright gold that was popular 10 years before when the house was build. Slowly, I have been replacing it all with brushed nickel, but when it comes to hardware, you gotta have something.

 

Just my thoughts. I do however, like that table and the couch/loveseat combo looks good too.

The garage still had construction stuff in last time I was there, but should be cleaned out when I go back next week for my pre-buy inspection. I'lltake pics.....

 

as far as neighbors, the people to my south are older folks, and don't know anout anyone else, but there are still plenty of houses for sale and empty lots. maybe a girl close to my age with a 1st Gen Camaro(or 3rd gen 3 series, or better yet BOTH!) will build to my north.

Microfiber is good stuff...I don't have it, don't like the feel...But it's good stuff. When I lived in Cali I had a couch made of it. I couldn't stain that thing for the life of me.

 

And you couldn't pay me to have a glass coffee table again. It's dirty 5 minutes after you clean it.

We have Microfiber in beige from lazyboy, two recliners and a sofa. The stuff is very nice and almost waterproof. If you spill something on it the tight knit won't allow it to soak in and if you get it dirty a little soap will take it right off. The biggest thing is it won't show wear and is very easy to clean; the only bad thing for us was the light fabric means we have to be extra careful not to get it dirty.

Microfiber is great. I have the Lazboy theatre seating.

 

Think again about Ashley though. Especially if you are looking at incliner's.

 

Sam Levitz told me that Ashley will only warrant their re/incliners for 6 months. Lazboy warrants the re/incliners for life, it costs a little bit more but the quality is far above the Ashley.

My sofa has a lifetime warranty...Problem is, if it breaks, you have to send it to them. Riiiiight.

The Lazboy warranty states that they will pickup for repair and deliver back if the repairs can not be done in home.

I own Ashley Micro Fiber couches and have no complaints other than I like a cold couch and the microfiber doesn't get cold.

I have one of the MF couches. Really like it. Ours is black. Only downside is when my parents bring their dogs (2 golden retrievers). They attract dog hair. I spend about 45 min this morning cleaning them after they left. They are very comfortable.

yes, furniture must be hauled in trucks. I don't see that couch fitting in a pink V-6 mustang. But body spash can be sold out of a pink V-6 Mustang.

Maybe try hitting it with some Static Guard spray before they come over?

Leave it to Wingnut to draw the line, but ya could of had some dignity and said High Karate instead of that French foo foo Toilay water.

 

The sofa's could be covered with plastic slip covers for that nostalgic vistin' grandma nuance. Although some of you are youngin' on here and probably wouldn't remember plastic covered furniture (hint it's older than PONG, okay much older than Atari 2600, how about way way way way before Nintendo)
