Stock exhaust

Just trying to see if anyone has added a Flowmaster or anything while keeping the rest of it stock and if you think it improved the sound ?

Yup, I got a Magnaflow welded in place of the stock muffler on my '02...No other changes. It sounds great. Just a bit of drone at specific RPM's, but nothing like my '92 with the FlowMaster dual exhaust on there. It's loud and proud. But I don't drive it every day, so I like it.

18" Magnaflow, no other changes. Sounds great. Noticable at cruise only above 70 mgh.

Gibson Dual Sport Side exhaust system here. I was not pleased at first because it didn't sound much better. I have had it on for about 10K miles how and it sounds much better. Not even noticeable while cruiseing but sounds nice when you step on it. I would recommend it if you aren't looking for something really loud. I would like to get something louder next time as long as it doesn't get annoying when cruising down the highway at 80.

I did a MUff only . I used a 70 series FLOmaster and love it.

Anyone simply weld in a 40 series or 50 series behind a 5.3L? And how are the power/torque gains comparable to a full catback system?

My previous truck had a Vortec 5.7L with a JBA catback exhaust. There were very noticable power gains and I loved the sound of it even though I've heard people comment on how it would drone. The scope of the install and the price didn't impress me though.

On my current truck, I want to go the simple route to make the 5.3L pretty noisy (outside of cutting the pipes off completely) and was looking at simply welding in a 40 or 50 series flowmaster as well. Can anyone comment on how the sound/noise level/power will compare to the JBA system? How noticeable is the drone? Apparently the JBA system with the straight-thru glasspack was supposed to have significant drone but I never really noticed, and I liked to drive with the windows down just to hear the exhaust. What about magnaflow as an alternative?

How about a CD of exhaust / muffler sounds?

Seriously, why would you guys like loud sounds from your trucks? I'm not ranting but sometimes I pull up to a souped up truck (In my truck BTW) and the noise just penetrates & bugs me. It woke up my son who was sleeping in his car seats a few times. Is it a by-product of muffler performance or something?

I put a Flowmaster 70 series on with the stock exhaust. It was good. When it finally rusted thru. I went to a Corsa cat back system. I love it. If I had to do it again, I'd go for the Corsa system right off the bat. No drone at cruise, loud at WOT.

Can anyone recommend a good 3" single in/out magnaflow muffler? How does the noise compare to flowmaster, and how do the shapes (oval vs round) matter? I viewed the videos on the magnaflow site but they didn't impress me much....any significant exhaust tone seemed to be missing.
