We are going back to Myrtle Beach this year. Specifically Garden City Beach is where our condo is, but we love the beach and there is plenty to do for everyone! Going to stop in Charlotte for a day on the way to see friends too. As many times as we have been to the beach, I think I should have bought a condo there!

Planning a trip to Florida in December, between the time the kids get out of school for Christmas break and Christmas.

Where are you going??? :chevy:

No big vacation plans this summer. I'll be going to Parris Island, SC in August for my son's graduation from boot camp.

Being military most of my "vacations" tend to be used up just to have time to visit with family and friends back home. If I didn't have children I'd probably spend a couple weeks of it to actually take a real vacation each year. But I'd like for them to get to see their grandparents as much as possible while growing up. Guess that's just how it goes..

Congrats to your son for his graduation, Greg.

My vacationing is almost done for the summer.

Spent one weekend at Lake Shelbyville. Elwood you may know where this is. Just south of Decatur, IL. Took the kids down for some fishing and swimming.

4th of July weekend I took the kids to Kentucky just south of Cincinnati, OH. I met up with my brother and parent there. Hadn't seen my brother in over a year.

In august the better half and I are taking a weekend trip to Chicago to get some time to ourselves and visit some friends.

No big vacations. Just some small outings, but still more than we have done for a few years.

Today marked 1 week until my last day of work before vacation. Going to the NJ shore. Specifically, staying just inland of Sea Isle City but will make trips to Wildwood and possibly Atlantic City, maybe Ocean City...

Blue Tahoe, I have never been to Lake Shelbyville , but I know where it is. Are you going to downtown Chicago or the burbs? I know some pretty good restaurants downtown. PM me if you like.

1st week will be the week before labor day weekend. Going to do some stuff around the house and hopefully wax my truck. Labor day weekened will spend some time at our cottage in Northern Indiana.

Other than that so far we have really only went to Turkey Run state park to do some hiking. Wanted to catch a cubs game but couldnt get tickets (might have to go to cincy to see them). Boring summer this yr but I just bought a house and my gf is starting physical therapy school so she is working to save some $$$

Ryan, I can give you the name of the broker I use to get tix. if you want to see the Cubs. Be prepaired to pay handsomely though, but he can get you from the rafters to the end of the Cubs bench and anywhere in between.

Let me know.

How does this sound for a family reunion and vacation: heading to the Boundary Waters for a 6 day canoe trip with my family...yes, the whole family...it will be a group of 26, everybody from my nephew's 2-1/2 y/o daughter through my Mom, who will be celebrating her 81st birthday while we're there.

First time the whole family's been together in three years, so it should be entertaining... :chevy:

San Juan Capistrano, California, for 2 weeks!!!!!!!

Far enough from L.A. to escape the smog and far enough from San Diego to escape the high-schoolers!

Plus some of the best beaches in California for riding are a 20 minute drive away! :chevy:

LOTS of great food in San Juan Capistrano. When I lived in San Diego, me and the G/F used to go up there (or Carlsbad) for weekends. Great area.

I'm thinking of going to Ireland or Germany this year...You know...For the beer. :loser:

Elwood,

Thanks for the offer however the last time I will likely be in the chicagoland area will be the last weekend of July (if the cubs make it to the world series ill be there though) to go to the muesum of science and industry. I may try to catch them in Cincy towards the end of July.

Last yr we lucked out and got some tickets from someone who worked for the tribune company (those were awesome seats by the bullpen). This yr it didnt work out :banghead:
