I am considering purchasing a PCM upgrade or Predator system for my '05 6 Liter GMC. My question is if I go with a PCM, I figure that would probably void my factory GM warranty, correct? Also I had a Hypertech tune installed on my last truck, a '00 5.3 Liter and if I had any problems I had to uninstall the Hypertech settings and re-install all the factory settings so the GM Tech computers could correctly read my codes. Do the PCM upgrades affect the GM Tech's computers and if so how can you get the factory settings back in to get the truck serviced? Seems that if I would have to send in my PCM every time my Check Engine light came on it would be a real pain. Please enlighten me! Thanks!

I answered you else where, but no, a tune will not void your warranty.

 

But, for your own piece of mind, find a core somewhere and keep your stock ecm.

 

I did this, not for warranty concerns, but in case they should flash any updates and erase your tune
