help installing an overhead dvd player

I need a little advise on hooking up an overhead dvd player in my 05 1500 crew cab. It's an all in one DVD unit. Can I use the dome light power for the unit? The wires look very wimpy. If not, what is the best way to get the power up through the headliner?

One other question. In the directions they show 3 wires called Anode, cathode and door. My guess is the "door" is for the dome light, but what are the other two for? I've got everthing else figured out (I hope).

Anyway, here is the wiring diagram.

Thanks!

I just ran power and ground up there from the fuse panel on mine. If you take off the left sunvisor you can pull the headliner down a little near the windshield and run the power/ground wires. The dome light wiring is wired weird and couldnt get the power working there all the time. Its not hard. I also ran a few under the headliner and just used a piece of plastic mouling I had laying around.

Thanks for the note!

I just finished up tonight, every one is happy except my oldest son who has to sit in the front seat (younger 3 kids sit in the back) and can't see it. Looks like I'm in the market for one of those sun visor screens.

:chevy: ...I'd like to see the install. I've been pricing those units and will be looking to purchase one soon. Did the model you bought have the wireless headphones?
