Fuel pump noise

I tried to do a search but it isn't working. At least it isn't working for me. I noticed today that my 02 Silverado's fuel pump is making a loud noise. I never could hear it before but now I can big time. Is this a sign of my pump going out? I thought at first it was due to the heat, it was 103 F out today with 68% humidity. Very sticky out. I also noticed my transmission temp was higher than normal, running at 190F.

Any suggestions? Is it hard to change out the fuel pump?

Thanks

Mine has been making noise for the last 40k miles, and still works just fine.

It isn't difficult to change the pump, but it IS a PITA. You either have to drop the tank, or take the bed off (much easier). Nothing fancy though.

Is this sound a whining noise, because my father in law's tahoe makes a whining noise while your standing next to the vehicle while it's running?

Mine as well. I've had my noise for about three years, off and on. It has been mostly on the last week or so. I figured the pump was gonna go, but just the engine rattles, it seems that this is "normal." Annoying, but normal. I posted the same question here a few days ago. It was mentioned to see if the noise is the same if the tank is full vice real low.
