I'm starting a short vacation after today. We're not really going to go anywhere special. Just hang around.

Last winter we went to South Padre Island Texas. Before that we were at San Antonio Texas.

Where is your favorite vacation spot? Where would you go if you could?- -money is no object!

If money is no object then I would spend a year going to all the NASCAR races I could and then take another year and travel the world with the wife and kids.  I really want to go to Hawaii.

Since I live in a popular vacation spot, ( http://www.polsonchamber.com ) every day in the Summer is like a vaction to me, so I have to say my home town is my favorite vacation spot.

I am taking  a 2 and a half week road trip to Florida starting Frday though.  I can't wait!

Vacation?  What is that?

We don't get to go on too many vacations, mostly just short trips.  Our annual summer vacation is a week at the state fair, not exactly the most relaxing when you have several cattle to take care of.

I like Denver a lot, I usually head out there for a few days every January for a large stock show.  Used to go skiing in the mountains while I was out there, may have to start that up again.

If I had unlimited resources, I too would follow the NASCAR circuit across the country Feb-Nov, then hang out at Lake Tahoe Dec-Feb.  Livin' la vida loca!!!!!!

Spring- south Georgia, watching azaelias and honeysuckle bloom while practicing my slice for 18 holes and fishing for small mouth bass

Summer- Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone NP, watching the rodeo and looking for wolves

Fall- anywhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway through the NC and VA mountains when the leaves are peaking and the whitetail are skitish

Winter- right here in Colorado, snowmobiling above timberline and later soaking in the hotub while the snow falls all night

The Grand Tetons in WY. We will be there September 10 thru September 22.

This is our 3rd time there we love it. My other favorite place would be a cruse to Alaska or a trip to Australia.

Since it sounds like you live in TX, here are a couple of places that both my wifr and I really enjoyed:

Jefferson, TX - Bed & Breakfast town like Fredericksburg, but a lot less known and it even has a town mystery - the story of Diamond Bessie. My wife likes it for the antiques and I like it because of Caddo Lake, which is without dispute, the prettiest lake in TX.

Vicksburg, MS - Not too far to drive, but full of history and some of the nicest people on this planet. The B&B we stayed in was absolutely fantastic - an old renovated mansion in town.

I'll have to say one of the best vacations I've taken was in '99 when we went to Disney World.  I think I had just as much fun as my son who was 6 at the time.  If you ever go to Islands of Adventure (next to Universal Studio's), you've got to ride The Hulk roller coaster.  It was a blast as well as the Spiderman 3D ride.

I would also like to go to Australia.

1) Sailing a 35-45 ft boat from Ft. Lauderdale to islands for a month or so...

2) Following the Baltimore Orioles around to every American League town to see a game at each home stadium.  Yes, even though the Orioles suck.

And another- if anywhere in the world- the Cook Islands near Fiji, in the South Pacific.  Since money is no object, I'd travel by teleporter or something, cuz I don't think I could stand being on a plane for 14 hours!

I'd also really like to visit Alaska someday on a floatplane/fishing trip in the middle of nowhere.
