Passlock a pain?

Ok i havent had this problem much but it happened yesterday

Me and my gf went to dairy queen and he brother went (took him to the video store first).  Well he stayed in the truck and i locked the doors.  He unlocked the doors to get out after we went in and the alarm went off.  Why does this happen.  Such a pain in the butt.

THis happens to my mom in her blazer all the time when my brother stays in the car and she locks him in.  He will unlock the doors for her when she gets back and the alarm goes off.

Anyone else have this problem?

i belive that once its locked you have to use the remote to unlock it or the key in the door to deactivate it, if you unlock it from the inside it thinks someone just picked the lock so thats why it goes off

You are absolutely right 01badgmc.

If someone were to break a window and unlock the door from the inside, the alarm goes off.  It can only be disarmed with the keyfob, or by putting the key in the lock itself.

Have you ever had a vehicle with an alarm like that, NO!  That's why it's a truck and not a human.  It doesn't know that you left someone inside.  It has a timer so that you have enough time to get out if you've locked the door's, in order to get out without setting it off.  It explain's it all in the owner's manual.  Plus you can always have it disconnected.

It will only go off if you lock it with the key or keyfob.  If you lock from the inside and then unlock the doors from the inside, it won't go off...
