Hey I'm new to this forum but to give a little backround on my truck I've got an '89 silverado. Its bone stock but im looking to add a bit to it. It's 2wd and has the 350 V8 and its a 5speed manual transmission. I was thinking vortec heads, air intake, and exhaust as my first step towards hot rodding. but im not sure if that is the best thing to start off with. so im open for any suggestions.

thanks

I think you'll have to get new valves/springs/rockers if you swap to the Vortec heads.

But yeah, heads are pretty restrictive on the TBIs, so that's a great place to start.

Welcome to the boards too :nopity:

So with that said..the heads being restrictive. Does that kill gas mileage? My truck is long been paid off and I was considering a 350 to replace my 200k mile 4.3L. Heads might be just as well though?
