OBS Low Presssure Switch

Hey Guys,

Gotta question about my Low Pressure Switch. Gotta 4.3L V6 and it seems my low pressure switch is once again going out. The last time this happened I paid $113 to have it changed at a dealer and I really don't wanna pay that again. I understand its like a $12 part. My question is...do I have to pump the system down and recharge it in order to change the system? I think the switch just unscerwes from the evaporator but I'm not really sure. Has anyone done this that can offer me some insight? Sometimes the compressor won't kick on when I turn the AC on, but if I pop the hood and tap the switch it kicks on. That works great, but its getting progressively worse.

There is a schrader valve on the fitting just unscrew the switch and install the new one.
