Oil Pressure to High

My brother in law has a 4.3 in his Chevrolet truck and now the oil pressure is very high about 80 psi. The oil pressure was always about 40 psi. The pressure is so high it keeps blowing out the oil filter gasket.

 

Anybody have any ideas. The truck has about 120000 miles

Stuck or broken oil pressure relief spring?

 

Did it just happen one day on it's own? After an oil change?
