Need help with upgrading Denali stereo

Recommended Posts

I couldn’t pass on the GM pricing and picked up an 05 Sierra Denali pickup a couple months ago. While I love the truck, I’m missing the stereo that I installed in my last truck. I was running two 10” Vangough subs in a pro box and CDT components in the front doors with some infinity capa fillers for the rear. The truck was an 03 Dodge Q-cab.

With my limited knowledge of this Bose system in the Denali, I am at a loss to what I can do. It would appear that ditching the HU will cause multiple complexities, some of which I know I don’t know.

So, unless convinced otherwise, I would like to use the Bose HU, pull all the speakers, amp and whatever it is they call a sub in the consol, and install new speakers, amp / amps and two tens under the rear seat.

I consider myself a budding audiophile that enjoys detailed music with a full sound stage. I do not need, or want a window rattling louder than hell system. The Bose is louder than I can stand, although I do realize that that is primarily due to the quality of the system. It doesn’t sound bad for an OEM pickup stereo, but is seriously lacking the SQ that I have become accustomed to.

I would appreciate any suggestions and help with component selection and installation input that you more knowledgeable than I installers would like to share.

*edit: I forgot to mention that the truck has the in dash changer and rear seat DVD.
