New to forum, and a Question

Hi guys and gals, i'm new here and I know i'm most likely get the general "Search Noob" response, but i did search, and I wasnt even sure i was looking in the right forums.

 

First off, my father and I are electricians and he owns a MY2000 Express 2500.

 

I'm not sure how similar the electronic components are when it gets to the internal guts but i was wondering if I could disable the door buzzer the same way you would in a silverado.

 

would this procedure work in a MY00? http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...3&hl=green+wire

 

or is there just an external buzzer somewhere i can rip out.

 

my father has diabetes and it's really annoying when his blood sugar is all screwy and he's gotta listen to it while he's freakin out.

REB........Your 00 should be the same as my old 01. It had a

seperate chime unit under the dash near the brake pedal.

Just unplug and enjoy the peace and quiet !!!!!!!!!!!!

 

GM changed the chimes in 03. The article you posted is for 03

and up where the chimes come thru the radio..............geo

yeah, i was pretty sure this was a separate unit, thanks for the reply, i think i'm going to rip it out and hand it to my father as a xmas present taped to a quarter stick
