Short Lived Sprint Car Series goes poof: Without ever having run a race, the fledgling National SprintCar League has ceased operations permanently and its 13 drivers and teams are scrambling to make decisions for the new season. One week after the Petty family and the Richard Petty Driving Experience withdrew its support from the organization, the decision was made to scrap the plan for a rival tour to the long-running World of Outlaws Sprint Series, which is owned and operated by DIRT MotorSports.

Wow, I wonder what happened to make the Pettys pull out. It'll be interesting to see what the teams do for next season.
