1992 K1500 Heater Control Panel

Hi, I just replaced the trucks battery and now most of the lights are lit up on the

HVAC control panel and nothing on it is working.

 

Now this panel has a history of being unresponsive at times when I

attempted to change the settings.

 

Do you think the panel is toast now? Or do I have a chance of resetting it

somehow?

 

I tried pulling the fuse for a few seconds but no difference.

If powering it down and back up doesn't help then yeah, it's probably due for replacement. We had a lot of problems with those control heads back then.

That happened on my '92...And since it seemed to be toast and I was going to have to buy a new one anyway...I took it apart to see what made it tick.

 

A couple of hours and a few beers later, I had re-soldered a couple of spots, cleaned up the board, and stuck it back in the truck. That was 6 years ago, and it still works like a champ to this day.

Good info ! I just picked one up at a junk yard for $30 and it works.

 

I may save the old one now.
