Heater blower motor

Have a 99 Tahoe, the heater fan motor is acting up. Not coming on right away. Seems it will come after a few minutes. It was making a cricket like sound on speed 1 for the longest time. Cricket is gone now, but the fan is not working right away. Anyone had to replace this in theirs, tried looking at the firewall on the engine side for the motor, couldn't find. I replaced the motor on my 93 explorer once, but doesn't seem as easy on the Tahoe.

I'm wandering if I should take it to the dealer for this one.

Any guidance and or suggestions ? , thank you in advance.

My 97 Yukon has a cricket in it too. I usually just have my girlfriend kick the heater fan cover and it shuts up. I'm getting ready to change it soon though. I looked at it and there is a rubber shroud around the fan motor on the inside, under the dash. After pulling that back it looks like you can get it out from there, easy enough.
