Silverado tail lights on a Sierra

I've been looking at the tail lights from the Silverado's and like the all red look. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable with the Sierra's? Thanks.

It's the same bed so they should. I've seen other Sierras with Silverado tail lights.

The lamps are a direct fit.

I have the 2004 Chevy lamps and harnesses on my 2000 GMC Sierra

 

your GMC taillamp harness has 3 bulbs, the 03+ Chevy lamps take 4 bulbs.

You can run your GMC harness with no issues

 

OR

 

Modify your harness and add the 4th bulb (peanut at the bottom)

 

OR

 

Buy Chevy lamp harnesses and swap them our directly

I also prefer the look of the Chevy tail lights over the GMC, ... Anyone know how much theyre going for?

I'm going to give my local dealer a call and find out the shop price for the tails. The all red look will go nicely with my LED light bar. I initially thought of the Altezza's but it would have made it look like a Ricer!

the dealer will rape you, trust me. go to ebay or look in the classified section of this site, people take them off to put those euros on

If indeed they are the same, I have an 04 Silverado and would love to have amber turn indicators. I would be glad to swap you tail lamp lens assemblies. Just send me a message. It is great that you posted this, I have been wanting to swap those out for a while.

Ok anyone NOT LIKE the all red tail lights on the Silverado besides me? I like how GMC is different, they've kept the front end the same and the back end the same, thats what really sets GMC apart from Chevy in my opinion! I like having that option!!

I just replaced the taillights on my 2001 2500HD with the lights from a 2005 GMC. They're the same except the GMC's have black seperating the color segments, and surrounding the outer edge. The only thing that come up was that the middle bulb socket for the turn signal is keyed differently than my originals. A little surgery with a knife took care of that. I think they look beeuuuutiful. Anybody want my original lenses? They have the amber turn signal, and will fit the NBS fleetsides.

Nope, you're not alone. I actually ordered a set of the 2003+ Silverado tails to replace my 2001's original tails. Took me only a few days to realize I did not like the look. My particular dislike was not so much the all red, but the 3D effect from the side. I like the way the older Chevys and the GMC's tails follow the lines of the bed.

 

So, I found the perfect compromise (for me anyhow) on Ebay. They are just like the 99-02 Silverados, but the turn signal lens is clear instead of amber. I wasn't sure if I would like them at first or not, but once I put them on I knew I had found the right look for my tastes. Me and my friends joke that they are "JDM" Silverado tails. lol.
