Wipers leaving black marks

I have a 2004 2500hd. Orignal wipers went after 16 months, never a problem before that. I replace them with a set of the best Anco blades my parts store carried. After the second time I turned then on they were leaving black marks on the windshield where the wiper changes direction, at the end of the sweep. The rain was steady to heavy and the defroster was on low. But I was left with black marks on my windshield.

When everything dried up I cleaned the windshield with some Windex and rubbed the black streaks will they were gone. The next time it rained the wipers were terrible, noisy nad leaving streaks all over the place. The auto parts store replaced them with new ones, with the same result.

After returning the Anco's, I installed some dealer OEM wiper blades and after $42.00 I have the same problem. I haev tried almost everyhting to clean the windshield, to solve the problem. 2 people that I work with are having the same, or similar problem.

HELP!

Try cleaning the wipers themselves. Rubber oxidizes when it comes in contact with air, or ozone, or other pollutants. It turns into a black powder on the surface of the rubber, which then can come off as your wipers wipe.

Get some soft scrub and a fingernail brush and clean the rubber on your wipers. I bet that fixes the problem.

I did what you said, but wouldn't you know it, it hasn't rained since.
