Rear Reading Lamps

Has anyone installed the rear dome/reading lamp in a Silverado from JP Customs?  I was wondering how much work is involved to install the light.  I was also wondering which color to buy.  While my interior is Graphite, the headliner is a Light Gray.  They offer both Graphite and Light Gray so I am a bit confused.  Also, has anyone installed JP's lighted sun visors?  I would be interested in those comments also.  Why the General put such cheezy visors in these trucks I'll never know.   Looks like the '02 models got a better set than my '01.

I'm also interested any feedback.  I've got an 02 and still think the sunvisor's are cheap ... I'm don't have buyer's remorse however the 00 Tundra LTD I sold to get a Chevy had dual lighted mirrors and a real leather back seat.  My truck has leather fronts and a cheapo vinyl rear that is apparently suppose to look like leather.  Seems like they skimped in areas where they shouldn't ...

Here's some info on the dome light with reading lights.  Dome light with reading lights  It has the part number of the dome light you will need for the graphite interior.  I installed it on my truck, but I bought the light from the dealer before Jason started selling his kits.  He did help me in the installation through e-mails though.  The installation wasn't hard at all, but you do have to cut the hole in the head liner a little bit to make it bigger in order for the new light to fit.  It wasn't much cutting though.  Jason will include some good instructions in his kit as well as all the connectors and other extras you will need.  I ended up having to buy all that stuff seperately.  I think it ended up costing more than what Jason charges for his kit though.

Hey guys, the Dome light kit is easy to install. Should take you about 30 minutes. Have to trim the headliner a little, but I explain all that in the instructions. Wiring isn't that difficult either. The needed wiring is included in the kit. For the Graphite interior, you will want to go with the Gray Kit.

As for the Lighted Sun Visors, I agree, GM went really cheap with the stock visors. The installation is a little more involved. You will be cutting a new hole in the headliner for the mounting support, but the kit includes a plug for the original holes. The wiring will have to be run for hooking them up, but it's included in the kit as well.

The installation will take you about 1.5-2 hours. I definitely like the lighted 2-piece visors a lot better than the stock junk.

Email me if you have any other questions.
