Gentlemen,

When the Maf sensor (mass air flow) gets dirty, is the mixture driven rich or lean. I just cleaned mine with good results

A dirty maf will generally cause the engine to run lean as the dirt acts as insulation that keeps the air from cooling the wires, causing more actual airflow than it is reading. Dirt will also affect the IAT (intake air sensor) in the maf, causing poor tranny shifting and other problems!

Very good idea to clean it regularly, especially if using an oiled air cleaner element like a K&N. :banghead:

Buy a electrical cleaner that leaves no residue (if you have one with residue it wont make any difference) get one with no residue and clean the temp sensor with a cotton Q tip.
