Something Electrical

Hello All,

I have a 2001 1500 Yukon XL, occasionally the truck will not start unless you

play around with the battery cables, either one. The symptoms are, when you

turn the key, everything goes dead. You then play around with the cables and

power is back on line. The thing is that the cables are tight, so I loosen and then

retighten them and it works, add to that it is starting to die at low speeds

everynow and then, with low idle until you gun it a couple of times. It was in the

dearships shop today for this problem and of course they could not duplicate or

locate any problem diagnostically...

So Now I Come To The Best Place That I Believe I Can Find Help!!!!

Any solutions?

Thanks Rzh...

Next time this happens measure the voltage at the battery with a voltmeter. You could have an intermittent "open" in the battery. It loses contact, and the battery becomes "dead", and then when you flex the battery, you cause the internal "open" to close and 12v returns.

Delco batteries aren't what they used to be.
