Air FIltration Filter

The book says to change the Air Filtration Filter under the glove box every 15,000 miles. I imagine that can be an expensive little filter, and was wondering if anyone sales them except the dealer????

There are actually two filters in there, one directly behind the other.  I purchased my filters at the dealership for 23 bucks (AC).  The Fram filters at Autozone were 38 bucks and the quality does not match up to the AC.

2 Filters????????? I had mine out today and the only thing I saw behind it was a radiator looking thing. Thanks for the info though, looks like I will have to check it out again!

Yep there are 2 in there-the second one is easy to miss.  I changed mine at 18000 miles and I was surprised at how dirty they were.  Lots of black dust, small bugs and those white fluffy seeds that fall off dandelions.  I drive sometimes in some meadows with high grass/weeds and I guess the air system sucks up alot of debris from there.

You guys have me scared now.  :D  I checked out the filters when I first got my truck a year ago (28,000miles ago).  I haven't found a need to change my engine air filter.....so I haven't thought the cab one needed too.  I don't do off roading either.  ???

i changed mine for the first time 2 weeks ago (48,500 miles!)...I had lady bugs, oak leaves, dirt, mots, etc.  Filters were $26 at dealership.  I did notice an improvement in air flow from my A/C.

Should I have these cabin filters in a 2002 Tahoe LS?  I have looked around the dash board and glove box area, have not seen them yet, or any obvious access panel.

Thanks.

Yep you have 'em too :D !

You have to remove that big black plastic housing that's under the passenger side dash and center hump.

Maybe someone can post the link to BCO's site that has the photos?  I lost the link.
