New Guy w/ 01 1500HD

What's up guys this is my first post on the site although i've been lurking awhile. I wanted to throw up some pics of my truck i bought three weeks ago.

Its going to get a black UWS toolbox and Oval Tube black Westin step bars next week.

I'm really looking for exterior mod reccomendations. I'm going to order a single exit Magnaflow setup as my next mod.

I'm undecided whether i want to put a bigger wheel/tire combo on stock height, beefier tires on stock wheels, or a 3" body lift and 33"ish tires. I've heard bad things about body lifts...what do you think? (It just looks/feels so low to me now)

Info: it's the 4wd LT Crew Cab,6.0L, leather, auto climate control, fogs, Captain's chairs, spray on bed liner, rides great, so much better than the 2500's i drove. Paid 18k for it and it has 34,2XX miles on it, bought it 10 days ago with 33,999.

It's all stock other than the low-pro toolbox, spray on bedliner, and it's got a tailpipe from a Duramax i think.

Welcome to the site. You may think you need help with mods but you certainly don't need help with putting a shine on a truck........VERY NICE!

I got mine off eBay a while back...the guy took the stock gold bowties, and painted them using the GM paint codes, then cleared them. It looks great...

As far as wheel/tire package...I'm a big fan of larger wheels/tires, and lowered a bit. Your truck looks great btw...

I forget...I think somewhere around $30. Well worth it to me...do a search on eBay for "Bowtie", and you'll get a million hits.

I don't see the guy I bought mine from selling them...but keep checking. I'll look at home later and see if I can dig up his eBay username. The only painted ones I see on eBay are a checkered flag, an American flag, or a Texas flag. I'll let you know if I find it...

I pulled the chrome trim ring and bow tie from the front of my rig and hit the bow tie with duplicolor indigo blue and the chrome with black rattle can. I cleaned both very well with xylene and had plenty of paint for multiple coats. Total cost was less than $10. The trim ring pops out and the bow tie screws off with plastic screws. Pretty easy mod.
