Question about ordering a new truck

I ordered my truck about 6 weeks ago, and I called the dealership the other day to check on the progress and the salesman told me it just moved to stage four. I'm not familiar with this, what do the stages mean?

Never heard of that? When I ordered my truck it came in on a truck about 2 days later. You shoulda asked the guy.

I wonder if maybe its like they build the chassis first.....then pop the body on....then do the normal interior stuff....and then the "package" type stuff (depending on what you ordered....WT, LS, LT,.....). Just a guess though. I could be wrong

I've worked at GM dealerships for over 16 years now and I've never heard of any "stages".

I do know that all the trucks I've ordered in the past have taken at least 4 months,

The '97 K1500 I ordered took almost 6 months!

2 days? Sounds more like they transferred an existing vechicle from another dealership.

When I ordered my truck in 2002, took 6 weeks.

I agree with an earlier repsonse....sounds like a story the salesman told you.

Call him back and ask him. Curious to know what he says.
