Good chance you could take him. I have a 2000 reg. cab, 5.3L and the thing is a screamer once you are off the line. I have not been beat buy a hemi or any other dodge yet. The hemi is all hype and no go.

It may not be a 426, but it still has some "Go". Definately dont underestimate them. I have noticed big differences from Hemi to Hemi. I have seen same type and config Hemi's run wildly different times at the track. From high 15's to mid 14's and nothing different other than the driver.

Don't forget that the Dodge is built a whole lot heavier than your Chevy.

I own a QC Hemi 4x4 with 20's. It beats my ext. cab Z71 5.3 every time. And the Dodge weighs more, and has 20's on it.

The wife drives the Ram because it rides better, and is quieter. And I drive the Chevy because it has 16 inch rims and I have to drive up over curbs a lot for work.

Saying the Hemi is all hype and no go is far from being right. The Hemi has way more TQ management than my z71. And it's quite hard to race it. You can't floor it, you have to roll your foot into it. If you just floor it, you can just feel it pull the timing and fall flat on it's face.
