What works best...

I am getting rid of my cat converter and I am just wondering what would be the easiest way to do it. What tools would work best for this job? I plan on putting a regular pipe where the cat is  will this make my ses light come on . Thanks I am just looking for some guidance on this issue.

I don't really see much of a reason to get rid of the cat, I mean all you're doing is increasing the emissions - there is no really noticible performance increase to doing this, unless it's really old... Even then there's not a whole lot to gain.

The SES light will come on and stay on. You will need to get some 02 simms from a performance shop (around $80 +/-). That will trick the PCM. I would suggest flanging in a pipe rather than welding one in if you have any emmision testing in your area. Then add flanges to you cats so you can swap them in and out if you need to or sell the truck.
