torsion bar tweak

I 've read alot of information about the torsion bar tweak and been thinking of doing it also.

I'm just curious what are the negative and long term effects of doing the tweak.

I too, am interested to see how this thread turns our as I'll soon be slapping on 285 somethings (didn't decide on brand yet).  I imagine that the ride feel if not only a couple of inches higher be stiffer too.  What does this do to the "Premium Ride" option that all LS's are coming with now?  Does it negate it?  Cause other problems?  I canceled "Stabilitrack" from my truck I have on order because a GM engineer told me that it would upset/throw this delicate system if I went from 265's to 285's.

Ive had mine cranked for about 8K miles.  No negative effects.  Only turned em 4 turns and got 3/4-1 in in height.  Truck doesnt ride stiffer (could be because i replaced the crappy Z71 shocks with bilsteins).

Day after i did it i got an alignment.  I would suggest you doing the same.

I did run the 285s for about 10K miles without any problems and one day when me and my gf came out of target she said "why is the front of your truck sitting so low".  I had to fix it if she noticed it.

I have been turning up the t-bars since 1988 and 10 trucks 1500,2500 and 1 2000 z71 tahoe and never did an alignment unless of bad tire wear. I put over 100,000 miles on the trucks in just a couple years and never noticed any fatiuge in the T-bars. Any alignment problems was when I cranked over an 1". Now 85% of the miles where HWY and the rest was spent offroad hunting and playing with orv's .

I cranked mine about 7000 miles ago, and all those miles have been city miles, except for a couple hundred offroad miles.  I still haven't gotten an alignment yet, but haven't noticed any adverse effects as of yet.  I only cranked them an inch.  The only difference I notice was an increased stiffness in the ride and maybe a little more bounce.  That could be fixed like Ryan said with newer softer shocks, but I like the stiff ride, and it would be a waste to change shocks when I plan on a suspension lift in the future.
