I've always thought about getting a red truck but always end up getting my favorite.....Black!

 

As far as the flares,They are standard on the Z71 Chevy's (Starting in '04)However you can order a Z71 with the wheel flare delete option,Its RPO option code R7D.

 

Or you can just take them off yourself!!

The fender flares actually perform an important function: they keep mud and gravel from damaging your body panels when off-roading. Personally I think that taking htem off is the same as taking factory splash guards off.

Only where the pop in clips are in the wheel well area. There are not holes in the side of the body. The side of the flare is held on with 2 sided sticky tape.

Try pulling the body side moldings off next for that "clean look". I have seen that done too on a brand new truck. The downside is that you will get a lot of door dings.
