I don't know how far you can get with cranking the torsion bars but I do know that you can buy some for torsion keys for around $80 that will give you 2" of lift. As for the other questions, I don't know off the top of my head but I have seen the answers on here before, try a search.

alright ill give that a try, i kno about the torsion keys, but i live in an apartment and have some tools but not to much, so i think it might be a little difficult for me to put the keys in(120 degrees here in phoenix right now lol). ive heard its not to hard tho, just need a special tool.

David,

I'm also looking to level out my 05 Z71. I was looking at the "Ready Lift" kit and posted a request for advice on the 1500 / 2500 section of this forum.

Hoping someone has heard about or experinced these kits before.

I own an 01 Silverado that I bought from the dealership with 305/70r16 (33x10.5). I came with Goodyear AT's but I have since changed them out for Maxxis Buckshot Mudders of the same size. Have no problems with them at all.

How much of a size difference is there in a 285/70/17 as compared to a 305/70/17 , i am looking at both right now and the 285's are quite a bit cheaper. So i was thinking of that route.

Keep in mind that if you adjust your torsion bars you'll mess up your alignment. Should probably plan on getting an alignment after adjusting the torsion bars. Better yet, see if the guy doing the alignment will adjust the torsion bars!

wont the adjustment of the bars make your suspension stiffer?

i wanted to level out my truck but not willing to sacrifice the ride quality.

its a little stiff as it is allready.

I think that the 305 is a wider tire. My dad likes to rum on the stock 285 and when I put them together they are the same size in height (about 33 in) but the 305 is wider by about 1 in.
