Airaid MIT

Considering the Airaid MIT over the outlaw mainly due to being half the price, and I like the idea of keeping the Factory air filter. How does it sound under the hood, I want sound ? Any gains performance wise or in mileage? Does anyone have a recommended dealer. Best I have found is 105 on ebay with free shipping. I try to stay away from ebay though if I can...

Cameron, take a look at Trueflow. Not a lot more sound but it is a quality piece that looks great under your hood with 14 hp gains claimed in the low to mid RPM range. They retain the factory air box but replace the tube. The key to their testing is they do so with the hood closed which is how you drive, I hope. Many of the others test with the hood up and a cooling fan blowing air right on the open filter. Great for added HP but unfortunatly, we cannot run down the road this way.

 

Check out their website and make up your own mind if it right for you. I like mine and it has helped me when towing my 6500 lb camper.

I looked into them, but unless I am mistaken all I would be gaining is a foam filter for and the price is quit a bit higher. I already emailed them to see if I could just get the tube, but they said I can only get the kit. Am I missing something?

I guess not. I was not sure if they would sell just the tube or not. I personally liked the filter and bought the entire kit. You are right though, it was pretty expensive.
