Radio problem

The AM side of the radio works poorly, static, etc. and the FM side fades in and out. Could that be a loose or disconected antenna lead? If so, how can I get to it to plug it in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of vehicle?

On my 2004, just tilt the steering wheel all the way down, chock the wheels, and drop the shifter down into the lowest gear (If an Automatic Trans), and pull off the fascia piece. Once that is removed, you should see I believe 4 screws holding the radio in. Unscrew those 4 and the radio will be able to be pulled straight out. The first time I took mine out, it didnt want to come out very well. Dont worry about breaking things. You just have to pull a little hard at first. Then look at the rear, if yours is like mine, the antenna runs sideways into the back of the radio into a jack. Mine gets like yours occasionally but I think that is due to something else interfering with it in the area. Good luck!
