Nitrous Questions

Ok, I got a question and I think the 1/2 ton area is the best place to ask it. First, let me give you some background:

A friend of mine has a 99 Eclipse with aftermarket turbo and he's planning on running a methanol injection kit he pieced together to help control knocking and get a little better horsepower.

My question is: If I'm trying to put a Rotrex supercharger on a built motor at 15-20psi, can I run nitrous with alcohol/methanol instead of fuel to help retard any detonation? I want to put nitrous on in addition to the charger, to clarify.

I know you're thinking 15psi supercharged is crazy, but I'm crazy and that's the way it goes. Thanks for you help.

When nitrous enters the cylinder during the intake stroke it boils and the cylinder temp drops and reduces pressure during compression. So I guess with less pressure during compression yeah it would help keep away pre-detonation. But Ive read before that average combustion chamber temperatures range from 1300*-1700* and with nitrous it can reach up to 4400*. That could lead to valve seats cracking & probobly other stuff.

Im going to do a little research, because Ive heard all sorts of different stuff about nitrous. I remember reading on nitrous expresses website that its a good idea to use nitrous on a Turbo/super charged engine because it acts like an intercooler. I dont see how thats true with the rediculous combustion chamber temps. Might be from the nitrogen thats formed when N20 breaks down. I dont know, Im going to do some reading.
