Given the recent comments by Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, will you boycott Citgo gas or not?

What were the recent comments? I have not heard or read about them.

It's been a long time since I've bought citgo gas anyways, and I don't see it happening anytime soon either. But that's irrelevant to the poll at hand.

No, but mainly because my wife works at a Citgo Station.

Throughout history, oil boycotts have not been successfull and have only served to affect the American employees of these Non-American companies.

By the way Chevrolet has a plant there as well, so I guess that in a way when you buy a GM product you also put money in Chavez's pocket via taxes.

Oh...And from Snopes.

Although Citgo may be owned by Petróleos de Venezuela, it is a formerly American company which is still headquartered in the U.S. (in Houston, Texas), employs 4,000 people, and supplies 14,000 independent retailers with gasoline and other petroleum products — Americans with no substantive connection to Venezuela who would be economically harmed by such an action. (Citgo also provides free or discounted heating oil to low-income communities and tribal reservations within the United States.) And, of course, in today's oil market Citgo's products will continue to find buyers whether or not they're purchased by Americans.

People that forward emails about this stuff should have the internet taken away from them.

Because it's ALWAYS some political partisan BS, and it doesn't serve any purpose other than riling people up for the wrong reasons.
