Do I have a locker?

I have a 99 GMC burb SLT 350 (5.7)

Reason I ask. When I am taking off from a light, or making a turn from a dead stop I get this sound of a dull ping. I had a friend that had a locker and it sounded kinda the same.

check your RPO codes in your glove box , G80 code is for posi or limited slip

A dull ping sound from a stop sounds like a dry slip yoke. A little expensive teflon grease and your good to go for a while.
