Fuel line

I own a 2004 Gulfstream motor home witn a chev. 8.1 gas engine. At the rear of the engine are two fuel lines which go to the fuel rail at the intake manifold. The one I need the clip for is the black line which goes from the medal line up to the back of the thermostat housing to a senser which has a fitting for checking fuel pressure. There is white nylon clip that fastens the black line to the line from the fuel tank. It may be part of the black line. This line appears to be made of a black plastic type material and is about 30 inches long. I have went to the dealer and for some reason they can't seem to find this part I need. I am grasping at straws and maybe someone here can help me. with either the part number or the white nylon lock which holds the two lines together. The vin # on this vehicle is

It would be helpful to see a good picture of what it is you're talking about, but I will say that they probably can't find this part because it is only available as part of the assembly. GM doesn't make every little clip, screw, nut, bolt available as a separate part you can buy. I'd be willing to bet you're going to have to buy the line to get the clip.

Most techs save these kinds of things in their "junk drawer" when they replace an assembly because they know it could come in handy some day when they break one taking the line off. Then they have to explain to the customer why they have to replace the whole $$$ fuel line for a fifty cent part.

You might want to take the piece with you to a local GM dealer and talk to the techs and see if someone has one laying around.

I would be willing to buy the line to get the clip if I could only find the part number. When I went to both the Chev. dealer and also the workhorse dealer they claim they cannot find this line. I am sure it is on every truck that uses the 8.1 gas engine for that year. It is too bad that there is not somewhere on the internet that you cannot pull up a picture of this engine and the parts list.

I was a certified auto mechanic for most of my working years but I now have been retired for about 8 years and don't know anyone that I can go to for this information.
