Miles on your rig?

If this has been done, I apologize but my search could not find anything.

I thought it would be interesting to see some of the miles racked up on our trucks. My Dad has a shop and had a guy in yesterday off the Interstate with a tire and wheel issue on a trailer. He was pulling it with 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L very similar to my Father's truck. My Dad asked him how many miles he had on his truck and the man told him that he better go look for himself because if he told him, he would not believe him. The truck had 378,000 miles on it and had been towing this trailer almost every mile. The trailer was not real big but weighed between 2500 and 3500 lbs. The truck, loooked almost new, had the original engine, trans and rear axle. He had never done anything to it with the exception of maint. and a few very minor repairs.

Again, if this poll has been done, I apologize.

Your comments concerning any major repairs would be great to go along with this.

Not that much on mine but I am curious to see a pic of that guys odometer that said he had something like 450,000. That would be awesome but was that a typo or what?

If you are talking about the original post and the guy with 378,000, it was no typo. My Dad did not take a picture of the odometer but he did see it with his own eyes.

My truck will be 2 years old the end of next month. I'm only in the 17,xxx range. At this rate it's going to take me 33 years to crest 300k miles.

The highest odometer reading that I've seen on a pick-up was about 270k. My father-in-law is a truck Mopar guy. He doesn't think anything of buying a Dodge diesel truck with 250k.

80,000 on 2002 Suburban (purchased with 50K on it), 27,000 on Work Truck. Had 90K+ on 1999 5.3L ECSB Z71 that I traded in the Suburban 2 years ago. No major repairs on any of them.

251,000 miles of the 'ole 96. Runs like new and I don't think it will ever die.

Honestly, I am thinking of replacing it too!
