Lifter noise

Truck is a 04 Sierra 5.3 has 95000 on it and the dealer tells me the cam and lifters are shot. It started to make a lot of noise in the am so I took it in. My understanding of all this is GM is having head gasket problems were antifreeze is leaking into the lifter valley and diluting the oil. I change the oil at 35-30% on the DIC or 5000 miles. So I guess what I am asking can this be true?

Never heard of it. We have NEVER had to replace a head gasket for any reason on that engine.
