Newb with a chime/speaker question

Hello, I just got a 2005 silverado 1500 and there is a couple of issues. I did do a search prior to asking for help.

 

My chevy has a problem, no door chime and no front left speaker, it works intermitently, when the sun is out and the inside temp warms up the things work. when the sun goes down and it gets cool they stop working. I dont have a clue...

 

I noticed that it was working just before sun down then I washed my truck and a few minutes later no speaker/no chime

could the speaker be getting wet or is there a module in the door???

 

One other problem I have is that when the AC or heat is on the fan will blow on 1-4 however when I switch to 5, I here a loud click and the fan shuts off.

 

Any guidance would greatly be appreciated

I would guess you have a speaker problem. The only way to know for sure is with a little diagnosis.

 

As for the blower, it sounds like the resistor, which also carries the high speed (5) relay. Usually, it's the lower speeds that go out, but no reason high speed can't go too.

Thank you, I found that the speaker harness was loose at the speaker and had some corrosion. i cleaned it and it appears to be working normal now. i will visit my dealer in reference to the fan not working on 5. The truck is still under the b 2 b warranty so that should be covered.
