my 2001 duramax has a constant humming sound in the overhead speaker when the truck is running. I had it to the dealer twice before warranty ran out they said there was no problem it just keeps getting worse. Anyone else have this problem or know what may be the cause? :troll:

Do you have automatic climate control in your truck? If you do, that sound may not be coming from Onstar. It could be the ambient temp sensor which has a little fan that draws in air. The fan maybe what is causing the humming sound.

Yes, it does have automatic climate control. The sound is definately coming from the speaker but is that sensor what may be causing that noise? Where do I find the sensor and test it to see if that is the problem. :troll:

As in the previous post, if the small speaker is the one above your head, that's actually for the climate control.

Mine went back on my truck within the first year. Drove me nuts!

Replaced under warrenty and it's been fine ever since (argh...shouldn't have said that, it'll act up now. )
