2004 Canyon Temp Gage Reading Low?

I recently purchased a used 2004 Canyon Crew Cab with the 3.5 motor. The temp gage consistently reads 1/4 of the unmarked scale (after the engine is warmed up). My prior experience with other GM vehicles (including a rented Canyon) is that the temp gage reads a needle width below half scale on the gage. Scanner says the engine temp is 196 or so and seems normal. Does anyone know if this truck has more than one coolant temp sensor? Thanks. Mike
