Nerf bars for 2500HD

Do they have the step in them?  If so, where'd you get them.  I went right to Smitty's site and they said they don't make them.

That's one of the reasons I like them, they're simple to install.

There are quite a few places that make them with the black plastic "step" on them; I have DeeZee's on mine, on my last rig I had Smittybilt's, there are also Westin's, Putco, Summit, and perhaps a few more.  Pricewise, Summit has the most reasonable, and the others are all about the same and have the same "features."

their site is slow to update, I am a dealer in alaska. They do have steps, 2 per side.

Are they two individual steps or is it all one tube with the two steps recessed into the bar?

I'll take a look at DeeZee and Westin.

I have the weston chrome step bars. They have two steps recessed into the bars. I got the top of line and they have a lifetime warranty. They look great!!

Ok, spent most of the morning searching.  I found some nice bars out there but of course nothing listed specifically for 01 or 02 HD's.  Just Silverado's and not all had a listing up to 01.  So with this alone, I might wait until a definite fit is listed.

Although, I found one REALLY cool set of bars.  They are made by MAAP and it is the Challenger line in either SS or black.  It is essentially a flat oval that is 6" wide with a flat step.  I'm really liking these.

I parused some Westin sets and I wasn't really crazy about them and I kinda felt the same about some of Smiity's nerf bars.

I have a set of the CPS Westin bars on my 2002 HD.  They are nice and sit tight against the body.  They may a black powdercoated stainless as well.  They are just a bit pricey.  If you are not interested in the tube look a set of automatic retractable steps by Kodiak.  Check out this thread.

I just installed a set of Smitty Built on my 2500 HD last night.  The bars fit well and look good, but the insturctions that came with them SUCK big time.  I am concerned that they will only spend a few cents for a very bad copy of a single page instruction to send with their products.

I would not recommend them for that reason.  If they were not a gift I would have returned them, the instructions were that bad.

Welcome to the forum and feel free to post this info in the product experience forum in hopes that it will reach more people.
