Silverado Wig-Wag help

Recommended Posts

I have been looking around for some wig-wags for my 2001 silverado but havent found anyhting yet. I'm looking for a system that acts on the original headlights so no extra light need to be added. A lot of the systms look cheap and the wiring looks out of control. Anyone have wig-wags that they have put on their silverado? Any help with suggesting a system that is good? Thanks

I thought wig-wags were illegal unless you're using your truck as an emergency (fire, police, rescue) vehicle? If you are, the agency you work for should have a source.

A "Wig-Wag" in the Fire/EMS/Police/Tow/Etc is basically a flasher for the headlight system that flashes the high-beam headlights (assuming one didnt decide to use the lowbeams instead) in a "wig-wag" pattern...more or less back and forth from left side headlight to right side headlight. Most manufacturers will tell you which are compatible with your vehicle. SoundOff makes one called the Q-Switch that does a nice pattern, more so than back and forth wig-wag style. Ive used a couple in my trucks, including the Q-Switch and have not had any problems.

The may be illegal but honestly everyone puts illegal stuff on thier trucks. Mostly just for show purposes anyway. Somebody has to have some experience with these on thier truck

I love how "honestly" is used to clarify cheating. :D

Do a Google search on "Safety Equipment" and you should find some online sources. There are lots of companies that sell equipment like this.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was actually looking for someone that had experience with a certain brand or model that they have personally used. I'll do some more research i guess
